In celebration of the 39th anniversary of Arizona’s original American Viticulture Area (AVA), Kief-Joshua Vineyards will be hosting the 7th Annual Southeast Arizona Wine Growers Festival, featuring 18 Arizona Wineries in one location, on March 2nd and 3rd, 2019, from 11 am to 5 pm at Kief-Joshua Vineyards, 370 Elgin Road, Elgin, AZ 85611.  The event will also feature a Blues festival with four top Tucson area Blues Bands.

Directions:

Festival gates will open at 10 am.  

The tasting room at Kief-Joshua Vineyards-Elgin is open seven days a week (11am-5pm) and is located at 370 Elgin Road, Elgin, AZ. The Sonoita Wine Trail is Arizona’s original and oldest wine-growing region. The festival is a perfect and affordable event for the entire family.

From Phoenix or Tucson: From Highway 10, take exit #281-- Rte 83 to Sonoita. Stay on 83 until you come to Elgin Road (mile marker 28) and turn left. Kief-Joshua Vineyards will be 3.7 miles on your left.

From Sierra Vista: I-90 to Rte 82 West, turn left on Upper Elgin Rd., the winery is 1 mile past the bridge on the right.

Professional Chili Cook-off with Winemaker Faux “Chopped” Cooking Challenge Set for April 13th, 2019 at Kief-Joshua Vineyards

Kief-Joshua Vineyards will once again host the non-profit Chili Appreciation Society International (CASI) in a professional Chili cook-off, where cooks from the Southwest will be competing for a spot in the national challenge, on April 13th, 2019, from 11 am to 5 pm.

 

For added fun, four winemakers will also be competing in a faux-episode of Food Networks hit show “Chopped.”   Ann Roncone of Lightning Ridge Cellars, Gary Reeves of the Village of Elgin, and Lori Reynolds of Sonoita Vineyards and Kief Manning of Kief-Joshua Vineyards will be competing and pouring tastes of their wines.

 

For a $10 donation to Rotary, guests can also taste the competition chili and People’s Choice chili’s on Saturday and Salsa on Sunday with all proceeds donated to Mountain Empire Rotary.  We’d like to encourage entries into the People’s Choice Chili Cook-off at no charge, where guests can earn prizes for winning the contest. 

 

Saturday:

11 am to 2 pm  Chili Tasting (or while supplies lasts) and Live Music

11 am to 2 pm.  Music by Blaine Long, mostly originals, Seen on Blake Shelton’s the Voice.

1 pm  Professional cooks turn in chili for Judging

2 – 4 pm  Faux “Chopped” Cooking Challenge

MAGDELENA BASH HARVEST FESTIVAL, AUGUST 24th, 11-5pm, Live Music All Day Long!!

In celebration of this year’s harvest, Kief-Joshua Vineyards will host the tenth annual Magdelena Bash & Harvest Festival on August 25th, from 11 am to 5 pm.
 
Several new Arizona wine releases.  Food vendors,  A tattoo artist and much more are featured at this year's harvest Festival.

New wine releases include:
* 2016 Malvasia Bianca

* 2016 Magdelena, 80% Barbara 20% Cabernet Franc

Live musical performances include:
Cat Daddy and the 12 Barz Blues Band, 11a-2pm
Jeordie, daughter of pop singer Melanie "I gotta a Brand New Pair of Roller Skates", 2-5pm

From Sierra Vista: I 90 to Rte 82 West, turn left on Upper Elgin Rd., the winery is 1 mile past the bridge on the right. We are open 7 days a week from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tours and Private Tastings are available by appointment. Absolutely no alcohol can be brought onto the property. No exceptions will be made.
